Warner Robins police to activate school zone speed camera during Summer
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Warner Robins Police Department is reminding the community that a Red Speed camera near Northside High School will be fully operational during the summer school sessions, according to a news release.
The camera will begin operating June 9 as part of an initiative to ensure the safety of students and pedestrians in the area.
According to the release, the camera will enforce the speed limit by capturing vehicles traveling 11 mph or more over the posted limit from 7 to 9 a.m., Monday through Friday.
The department said the camera is intended to reduce speeding and promote safer driving practices, especially in areas with high foot traffic and near schools.
“Ensuring the safety of our students and pedestrians in school zones is a top priority,” said Chief Fisher of the Warner Robins Police Department. “The Red Speed cameras are a critical component of our efforts to create a safer environment around our schools. We urge all drivers to adhere to the speed limits and exercise caution in these areas.”
