UPDATE: Warthen man charged in March shooting on Mayview Road in Washington County, firearms recovered
UPDATE (6/13/25):
Investigators with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Warthen man Thursday in connection to a shooting that happened earlier this year on Mayview Road.
According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, 22-year-old Omarion Harden was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault. The charge stems from a shooting that happened around 5:30 p.m. on March 27 in the 3000 block of Mayview Road.
Deputies say Harden’s arrest followed a lengthy investigation that included gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. During the arrest, investigators say they recovered and confiscated multiple firearms.
“I want to thank our investigative team for their diligent hard work on this case,” Sheriff Joel Cochran said in the release. “The Washington County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to protecting our community, working tirelessly to ensure that both your family and ours have a safe place to live and work.”
On March 27, the sheriff’s office said deputies responded to the shooting “that occurred in the roadway” and began collecting evidence and witness statements at the scene.
