UPDATE: Teen, man arrested after Sandersville shooting

According to Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran, 18-year-old Dayhmon of Tennille, was arrested in connection to the shooting at Sunrise Apartments in Sandersville.

He says both suspects are charged with Aggravated Assault.

SANDERSVILLE, Georgia – A 21-year-old man is in custody following a weekend shooting at the Sunrise Apartment Complex in Sandersville.

Police responded to the complex early Saturday morning after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers found one person suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition.

According to Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran, 20-year-old Jabren Jekhi Duggan turned himself in to the Washington County Jail on Sunday. Duggan has been charged with aggravated assault in connection with the incident and remains in custody pending a bond hearing.

Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
