UPDATE: Missing 86-year-old woman found safe in Macon
UPDATE: June 26, 2025A news release states that Nettie Harris has been found and is safe. Her family has been given back control of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Harris is no longer listed as a missing person in the NCIC system.

Georgia’s MACON (41NBC/WMGT) The public is being asked to assist the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office in finding an elderly woman who has gone missing. Investigators say that Nettie Harris, 86, was last seen at Macon Rehabilitation & Healthcare, 505 Coliseum Drive, on Wednesday night at approximately 10:50 p.m. Just before 12:47 a.m., officials received a missing person’s complaint. According to deputies, Harris left the building by a rear entrance and left on foot. Although they explored the region, staff and law enforcement were unable to find her.
According to the description, Harris is a Black woman with grey hair. She weighs about 117 pounds and stands about 5 feet 6 inches tall. She was last saw sporting purple Crocs, light brown slacks, and a white shirt with the words “Graduation 2021” printed on it. According to officials, Harris has Alzheimer’s disease.
