UPDATE (5/30/25): According to a news release from the Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office, arrest warrants have been issued for a man who is suspected of killing two persons in Wilcox County.

The statement states that on May 25, just before midnight, Quintavis Holt, 39, arrived at 205 Depot Street in Pineview, where he met Nathadius Lawson, 39, and Charleston Calix, 40. According to deputies, Holt opened fire on Lawson and Calix as they were mingling in an outbuilding behind the house, killing both men. After then, he fled the scene and is still at large.

As soon as they arrived, deputies started looking for Holt. Sheriff Jeffrey Wessel requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

Holt was identified as the gunman by investigators based on residential security footage and witness testimonies, the report said. Since then, arrest warrants have been issued.

Holt is accused of the following:

  • Two counts of malice murder
  • One count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime
  • One count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Two counts of aggravated assault

Sheriff Wessel urged everyone in the community to exercise caution. Quintavis Holt is seen as dangerous and armed. This kind of violent, illogical crime has no place in Wilcox County. Until he is apprehended and placed in jail, where he belongs, we will not stop.

The GBI Tip Line can be reached at 1-800-597-TIPS (8477), and the Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office can be reached at (229) 467-2322.
