According to authorities, a 64-year-old disabled man named John Tracy Hill was discovered dead at the Walton Summit Apartments off E.E. Butler Parkway in November. The Gainesville town square is less than a mile away from the complex.
While doing a wellness check, officers discovered Hill. Investigators ultimately concluded that he died from injuries caused by sharp objects in his apartment.
According to authorities this week, Plumley resided down the hall from Hill and in the same apartment complex. Plumley was accused of two counts of simple assault, aggravated assault, and criminal murder. According to booking records, he was being held in the Hall County jail on Friday.

Following Hill’s passing, Gainesville police chief Jay Parrish declared, “We will not let up.” Until they are held responsible, we will not give up on individuals who commit violent crimes.
