PHOTOS: Fire truck flips over after crash in Twiggs County
TWIGGS COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office says the drivers of a fire truck and passenger truck sustained only minor injures after a rollover crash on June 16.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, firefighters and deputies responded to a vehicle on fire on I-16 Westbound, near Mile Marker 28.
They say a Twiggs County fire truck was using lights and sirens traveling Eastbound, and began slowing down to use the emergency cut through near the Cool Springs over pass in order to get to the fire. When the fire truck slowed down, it was hit in the rear by a truck going at a high rate of speed, causing the Fire Truck to flip over on its roof.

Both drivers were taken to Atrium Hospital with minor injuries.
The Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office is using this time to remind drivers that you must stay back from a moving fire truck by at least 500 feet. They also say, pull over to the right to give the fire truck room to pass through.
