Organization brings awareness to elderly care resources after incident in Warner Robins
Georgia’s WARNER ROBINS (41NBC/WMGT)A local organization is raising awareness of the resources available to the elderly following a recent murder-suicide in Warner Robins that involved two of them.
One of the numerous organizations providing elder care services in the Middle Georgia area is Visiting Angels of Central Georgia. Meal preparation, transportation, personal care, social contact, and specialist care for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia are just a few of the everyday life activities that their services are intended to help senior citizens with.
Nearly 70% of Visiting Angels’ clients suffer from dementia, according to David Milby, the organization’s president and co-owner.He emphasized the value of spotting when a family member or senior citizen is struggling and the necessity of acting quickly to help them.
According to Milby, one of the things I see far too frequently is people waiting for too long till they become so stressed out that they are at a loss for what to do. Reaching out to someone, even if it’s only a family member or neighbor, and saying, “Hey, I need help,” even if you’re on the verge of a physical or emotional breakdown. The issue is getting out of control.
To guarantee that families and individuals have access to the care they require during trying times, Visiting Angels offers help twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
