With highs in the mid to upper 90s and heat indices close to 100 degrees, Middle Georgia has had a scorching start to the week. The wind is nearly nonexistent and will continue to be so during the night. Rain is mostly not forecast, however there is a remote risk of one or two showers or a storm. Through the late evening and into tonight, the evening’s clouds will dissipate. As Tuesday morning approaches, lows are probably going to be in the low to mid-seventies.

Tuesday’s high temperatures are predicted to reach the upper 90s and lower triple digits. A Heat Advisory has been issued for the whole region until Wednesday at 8:00 PM EDT, as heat indices for parts of Middle Georgia are expected to rise to about 105 degrees. Although there is a chance of another storm or a stray shower, Tuesday is not likely to see any rain. There will be little wind coming from the northeast.

The aforementioned Heat Advisory will be in effect until Wednesday evening, therefore the significant heat will persist on Wednesday. Although there is a minor chance of rain on Wednesday night, the most of the area will remain dry. As the heat moderates, the likelihood of storms will increase further in the latter part of the week.
