Johnson County man charged with Grooming a Minor
WRIGHTSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –A Johnson County man was arrested in Tennessee this week for an ‘outstanding felony arrest warrant’, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office says 38-year-old Steven Swenor was taken into custody by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office in Greeneville, Tennessee on June 3, charged with one count of Grooming of a Minor, in reference to a 15-year old unnamed victim.
A Facebook post by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says the arrest originated from information obtained on February 12, 2025. The Sheriff’s Office says an investigation was immediately initiated.
They say the investigation revealed that between November 2024 and December 2024, Steven Swenor made contact with the victim on Facebook Messenger, at which time he sent messages in an attempt to meet with the victim and spoke in a sexual manner with the victim.
According to investigators, Swenor admitted to sending the messages and to knowing the victim was a juvenile. He’s currently in the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Danny Elbert Detention Center.
