Heat continues Wednesday as rain chances climb

Georgia’s MACON (41NBC/WMGT) The day will continue to see above-normal temperatures, but the likelihood of storms will increase in the evening.

The remainder of the day and evening will be hot and mostly sunny in the Middle Georgia area. Lows in the mid- to upper-seventies are predicted for this mild evening as well. There will be light and fluctuating wind. Although rain is not anticipated, a little shower is not completely out of the question.

With highs predicted to reach the mid to upper 90s and heat indices in the triple digits, Middle Georgia will once again be hot. The region as a whole is currently under a Heat Advisory, which will remain in force until 8 PM EDT tomorrow. There will be little wind coming from the northeast.

The likelihood of storms will increase in the late afternoon and evening. All of Middle Georgia is at risk of severe weather, with a Level 2 Slight danger. Although some hail cannot be totally ruled out due to any organized clusters that form, this is mostly because to the possibility of some destructive wind gusts.

A few storms are expected to persist overnight, but they will clear off by Thursday morning. Lows are predicted to be mostly in the lower 70s on this chilly night. The wind will fluctuate between 5 and 15 mph, becoming stronger during storms.

As high and low temperatures return to almost normal, isolated storms will once more become the norm in the afternoon to end the week. Over the weekend and into the first part of the following week, this trend will continue.
