Grisham’s tiebreaking slam in 9th completes Yankees comeback against Braves

For a 12–8 advantage, Grisham blasted a 1-1 slider to right-center after Jazz Chisholm Jr. lined out to third base.

In relief, Luke Weaver (2-3) pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings to earn the victory. Devin Williams closed it out after giving up a run in the eighth.

For Atlanta, Ozzie Albies scored five runs, including his second three-run home run in as many games. In the series, he has nine RBIs. The Braves also had a home run from Michael Harris II.

In the eighth inning, Volpe knotted the score at eight with his second home run off Dylan Lee.

After five innings, the Yankees were behind 7-2, but they scored four runs in the sixth and another on a home run by Bellinger in the seventh.

In his first start since 2023, recently acquired Joey Wentz pitched four scoreless innings for the Braves. He gave up a walk and two hits.
