FVSU to Open 2025 Season at Week Zero Labor Day Classic

Fort Valley, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – Fort Valley State University announced Thursday that its football team will kick off the 2025 season at the Week Zero Labor Day Classic, presented by The Ultimate Fan (TUF). The three-day event is scheduled to take place August 28–30 at Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Wildcats are set to face the University of West Alabama on Saturday, August 30, as part of the weekend-long celebration of football and entertainment.

The Labor Day Classic will feature multiple games, a celebrity flag football matchup, a BBQ festival, a DJ spinoff competition, and a variety of family-friendly festivities.

The event marks the official start of the 2025 college football season for Fort Valley State.
