One of the first law enforcement officers to arrive at the scene of the CDC shooting on August 8 was Rose, a 33-year-old former U.S. Marine who had just graduated from the police academy in March.

His memorial ceremony will be held at First Baptist Atlanta, located at 4400 North Peachtree Road, at 11 a.m. The ceremony will be livestreamed by the county as well.

It is anticipated that numerous state and metro Atlanta law enforcement agencies will be there. It is advised that visitors arrive early. First-come, first-served seating will be used.

Just before 5 p.m. on Friday, Rose was shot and killed by Patrick Joseph White while he was responding to allegations of an active shooter, according to the police. Officials said Rose was brought to neighboring Emory University Hospital, where his mother had worked for over 20 years as an intensive care unit nurse. That night, he passed away in the hospital.

His wife and two small children, as well as a third on the way, survive him. A GoFundMe effort has garnered about $570,000 for his family.
