Elderly woman killed, four others injured in multi-vehicle crash in Washington County
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –An elderly woman is dead and four other were injured after a muti-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Washington county.
Sheriff Joel Cochran says it happened at 3:45 p.m. on Georgia Highway 15 near Jackson Road. He says the victim who died at the scene has been identified as 83-year-old Rosa Allen.
According to Georgia State Patrol, Allen crossed over the center line and hit the side of a tractor trailer. The collision then sent Allen’s vehicle into an SUV traveling behind the tractor trailer.
The four people in the SUV were taken to the hospital. No word on their condition.
GSP says the driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.
