Deputies investigating armed robbery at Academy Sports in Macon

MACON, GA (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says they are looking into an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon at Academy Sports + Outdoors on Eisenhower Parkway.

According to deputies, the 911 center received the call at 12:46 p.m.

A male entered the store at 1689 Eisenhower Parkway, stole a number of products, and attempted to flee without paying, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to the announcement, the man drew a gun and aimed it at the store clerk who confronted him. There were no injuries.

According to deputies, the suspect rode north on Key Street on a blue bicycle that had been taken from the store.

According to the sheriff’s office, the male was roughly six feet tall and between thirty and forty years old. He was dressed in gray jeans and a black t-shirt.

Investigations are being conducted into the case.
