According to the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office, MiKah’s medical history is being reviewed, but a cause of death has not yet been established.
The school posted on social media that it was “deeply saddened by the passing of Arabia Mountain sophomore Mikah King following a medical emergency at football practice.” His family, teammates, and the whole Ram Nation are in our prayers and thoughts during this trying time. Too suddenly gone, but always remembered.
According to the GoFundMe website, MiKah’s twin brother, who is presently in the hospital because of difficulties from sickle cell anemia, and his parents are his only survivors.
There were still funeral plans to be made. The family will be able to pay those expenses with the help of the money generated online.
During his 15 years on the field, in the classroom, and in his community, Mikah made a significant impact on numerous lives. Together, let’s honor him, remember him, and make sure his spirit endures.
