Calling all local artists to help beautify Warner Robins

Georgia’s MACON (41NBC/WMGT) Have you ever wished to contribute to the beautification of Warner Robins? You may now, as the city is currently holding a live call for local artists interested in designing a wrap that would cover the exposed metal traffic boxes seen at many of the city’s crossroads.

The City of Warner Robins Traffic Boxes Adopt a Box Program is the name of the initiative.

According to Kate Hogan, the Director of Community and Economic Development, the Georgia Municipal Association’s Georgia Economic Place Making Collaborative is the initiative they are a member of, and it gave them the idea to improve the traffic boxes.

According to Hogan, one of the reasons they want to decorate them with local artwork is that they lack aesthetic appeal and have a typical utilitarian appearance.

According to Hogan, they would like to start by covering seven of the 54 traffic boxes in Warner Robins.

According to Hogan, artists are asked to call back by July 16th.

According to her, companies have to adhere to a set of rules set forth by G-DOT, thus all proposals should have a theme centered around concepts such as civic engagement and hometown heritage, according to Hogan.
