Runners honored Rose, who spent four years in the Marines, with a moment of silence just before the event began.

Denise Wright, 47, and Khalil Shadlan, 8, sat down to rest as racers crossed the finish line at Pemberton Place. According to Wright, they aim to run three or more 5Ks each month.

According to Shadlan of Atlanta, he has been running 5Ks since he was 4 years old.

Following each race, Wright stated that the loser must cover breakfast expenses.

As usual, Shadlan won on Saturday and had plans to have breakfast at his favorite restaurant, Waffle House.

“I’ve only lost once,” he remarked.

For some, the marathon was more about helping the race’s cause than it was about setting personal records.

Army veteran Cliff Gordon, 55, said he came out to commemorate Rose and support the police.

Gordon, a resident of Forsyth County, stated that this is a very turbulent moment.

Pastor Gordon shared his prayers and worries for Rose’s family, particularly for the officer’s wife, who is a mother of two children and is expecting a third.

“It simply breaks my heart,” he remarked.

According to 44-year-old Jennifer Ray, she and her spouse try to run a race each month for a good cause.

According to Ray of Barrow County, they have held races to raise money for local schools, animal shelters, firefighters, and children with cancer.

A GoFundMe has been established to assist Rose’s family in addition to the race’s proceeds.

In the meantime, investigators are trying to figure out why the gunman died, claiming that he shot himself.

Law authorities discovered a memo earlier this week that detailed the shooter’s dissatisfaction with the COVID-19 immunizations.

More than 500 shot casings were found at the site of the shooting outside the CDC last week, according to investigators.
