RFK Jr. visits CDC in Atlanta days after shooting, reports say

The gunman was identified by the GBI as Kennesaw resident Patrick Joseph White, age 30. On the second story of a CVS across the street from the CDC, he was discovered dead from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. It was unclear to authorities whether his injuries were self-inflicted.

The event left the windows of the public health organization covered in gunshot holes and prompted immediate active shooter lockdowns at Emory University, the university hospital, and the CDC. At least four buildings have been hit, according to Monarez.

White’s neighbor told the AJC that he often expressed his mistrust of vaccines and his belief that they had negatively impacted his health.

According to The New York Times and CNN, which both quoted an unnamed official speaking on condition of anonymity due to the ongoing inquiry, he blamed the COVID-19 vaccine for his health issues. The GBI declined to comment on motive after the FBI forwarded all of the AJC’s inquiries to them.
