Meanwhile, the war has gone on unchecked. Russia is making strong efforts to penetrate the 1,000-kilometer (620-mile) front line in the east and northeast. Additionally, it fires up to 700 drones at Ukrainian cities every night.

Russia began attacking the Ukrainian districts of Sumy in the northeast, Odesa in the south, and eastern Kramatorsk at dark on Monday night.

Oleksandr Honcharenko, the head of Kramatorsk’s military administration, said a glide bomb struck a residential complex, causing a fire. According to local officials, a boy who was born in 2015 was slain, though they did not specify how old he was. There were five further reported injuries.

According to the provincial military administration, there were several waves of attacks in the Sumy region. Four people, including a five-year-old boy, were injured after a drone struck a gas station in the town of Putyvl, according to the report. Seven additional people were wounded when a second drone strike struck the same spot less than two hours later.

Thirteen people, including a six-year-old boy, were injured when two powerful Russian glide bombs were dropped on Sumy city after nightfall. Regional authorities report that the attack destroyed a retail mall, two private residences, and five apartment buildings. Residential buildings’ balconies and windows were smashed by the explosions, according to acting mayor Artem Kobzar.

Russia’s Defense Ministry also reported on Tuesday that its air defenses had shot down 35 Ukrainian long-range drones over a number of areas overnight, including three over the Moscow region.
