Dr. Johnathan Roberts named superintendent of Macon County Schools
Georgia’s Oglethorpe (41NBC/WMGT) The district announced in a news release on Tuesday that Dr. Jonathan Roberts has been appointed superintendent of Macon County Schools.
After working in education for almost 20 years, Roberts was chosen by the school board. According to the district, he has held positions as an assistant principal, outstanding student education director, and special education teacher during his career, with his most recent position being deputy superintendent of Lamar County Schools.
The district claims that Roberts is well-known for emphasizing data-driven decision-making, servant leadership, and creating learning environments that are focused on the needs of the students.
Roberts completed the Premier Superintendent Professional Development Program in Georgia.
According to the district’s press release, the Board is sure that Dr. Roberts’ dedication to academic success, equity, and teamwork will benefit students, staff, families, and the larger community. His goal is in line with the district’s objective of giving every kid the chance and assistance they require to achieve.
