Warner Robins teen dies after shooting; two arrested on murder charges
Georgia’s WARNER ROBINS (41NBC/WMGT) After being shot on Warner Robins’ South Houston Lake Road, an 18-year-old passed away on Wednesday night. A criminal murder accusation has been brought against two people.
Around 7:46 p.m. on July 2, Warner Robins Police arrived at the scene of the shooting at 154 S. Houston Lake Road. Officers discovered 18-year-old Qwamaine Lewis with a single gunshot wound upon their arrival. He was brought to a local medical facility.
Police subsequently verified that Lewis’ injuries from the gunshot caused his death during emergency surgery. The matter was taken over by the department’s Criminal Investigative Division.
Suspects located after BOLO issued
Investigators issued a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) for a white BMW they thought might be related to the incident. A 911 call was made after the car was subsequently seen smoking on the side of the road in Americus, Georgia.
After locating the car and apprehending the passengers, police identified them as 18-year-old Jaylen McSwain and 19-year-old Kel Zavious Felder.
Both suspects face felony murder charges
Both individuals were taken into custody by police following interviews.
