Thunderstorms and showers start the new week

Georgia’s MACON (41NBC/WMGT) On Monday, our weather pattern will continue to be repetitive. Expect the summery diurnally-driven convection to continue this afternoon and tonight with persistent troughiness and feeble flow. Much of North and Middle Georgia is under a Marginal (Level 1 out of 5) Risk for Excessive Rainfall, according to the Storm Prediction Center. Any thunderstorms that develop might cause more than simply annoying road flooding or ponding and regions with poor drainage. We are not anticipating widespread or coordinated severe weather, but we cannot rule out a few strong storms that might be quite powerful. After Sunday’s downpour, there may be patchy fog with reduced visibility. The morning commute may be affected by this. This afternoon, maximum temperatures are predicted to reach the upper 80s to low 90s. Morning lows in the 60s to mid 70s are still predicted to be pleasant.
