Isolated storms likely this evening; more rain tomorrow
Georgia’s MACON (41NBC/WMGT) At the start of the new week, there is a greater possibility of rain in Middle Georgia.
This Evening
Isolated storms will be present throughout Middle Georgia through supper and into the night on a partly cloudy afternoon. Strong wind gusts and a little hail are possible during the most severe storms. Partially cloudy skies are to be expected overnight, with storms subsiding after midnight. Before the daybreak on Tuesday, lows will mostly be in the lower 70s. There will be a mild southwest wind.
Tomorrow
Tuesday is predicted to be a cloudier day with a higher chance of widespread rain in the afternoon. Real feels will be in the upper 90s and lower triple digits, and temperatures will rise into the upper 80s and lower 90s. Light winds of 5 to 10 mph will blow from the south-southwest.
Currently, there is a Level 1 Marginal threat of severe weather in the northern portions of Middle Georgia. This is because even the biggest storms have the potential to produce destructive wind gusts or hail.
A few storms are expected to persist into midnight tonight, with a remote possibility of a shower lingering until Wednesday morning. Although a few upper 60s are possible, the majority of lows will be in the lower 70s. There will be a mild southwest wind.
Wednesday and Beyond
A cold front is expected to sweep into the area from the northwest on Wednesday, bringing with it another good round of storms. In the end, this will result in a decrease in the likelihood of rain during the last two days of the week. This should go hand in hand with people enjoying fireworks on Friday in honor of Independence Day.
Watching the Tropics
As could be expected, there hasn’t been much to talk about in relation to the Tropics thus far. However, a disturbance over the Gulf south of the Florida panhandle is being watched by the NHC. Within the next seven days, there is a 20% risk that it may turn into a depression. The aforementioned cold front will restrict it to the south/east, so Georgians don’t need to worry.
