Malik Herring Hosts Fourth Annual Fun Day on Saturday

Georgia’s Forsyth (41NBC/WMGT) This weekend, the fourth annual Malik Herring Fun Day will be held at the Monroe County Recreation Department in the hometown of Mary Persons High School alumnus and Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Malik Herring.

Herring is taking a break from his offseason training to spend a Saturday afternoon giving back to the town that reared him, following his mandated minicamp in Missouri. Families from all over the middle Georgia region will be able to enjoy a day full of food, games, and summertime fun at the free event, which will take place at Pavilion No. 1.

Desmond Dee Williams, a cornerback for the New York Giants and a fellow Mary Persons Bulldogs star, will be joining Herring as a special guest.

With a waterslide, bounce house, face painting, adult water volleyball, and live DJ music, the Fun Day has something for everyone. The event, which will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., will also include food and beverages for families to enjoy.

The Malik Herring Foundation hosts the yearly event with the goal of providing children with a fun and safe way to start the summer while fostering relationships with role models who used to play on the same fields and travel the same corridors in Forsyth.
