Inmate serving life sentence dies at Macon State Prison
Georgia’s MACON (41NBC/WMGT) The death of an inmate at Macon State Prison on Wednesday has been confirmed by the Georgia Department of Corrections.
A GDC spokeswoman stated that Sanchez Jackson passed away while being held. Jackson had been convicted of murder in Fulton County and was serving a life sentence with the possibility of parole.
According to the GDC, Jackson’s body was given to the county coroner and will be sent to the crime lab of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) for an official cause of death determination.
As is customary, the death is being investigated by the GDC’s Office of Professional Standards. The representative stated that since the inquiry is still underway, no further information is currently available.
