Man arrested after high-speed DUI chase in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man was arrested for DUI and fleeing deputies after leading officers on a high-speed chase in Washington County, according to the sheriff’s office.

The chase happened around 6:30 p.m. on June 16. Sheriff Joel Cochran said a deputy patrolling Highway 540 near the roundabout clocked a vehicle traveling 92 mph in a 65 mph zone.

The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled onto Ridge Road toward Highway 15. The vehicle then tried to turn onto Mayview Road, where the deputy performed a precision immobilization technique (PIT) maneuver.

The vehicle stopped, and the driver fled on foot. Deputies chased him and arrested him.

The driver was identified as 36-year-old Bradley Lee Clark of Eatonton. He was charged with DUI, fleeing and attempting to elude (felony), possession of a schedule II drug (felony), and several other traffic violations.

The passenger, 31-year-old Khai Green of Eatonton, was charged with possession of a schedule II drug and failure to wear a seatbelt.
