Macon-Bibb government offices closed June 19 for Juneteenth, trash schedule not impacted

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb County will observe the federal holiday Juneteenth by closing all government offices, including the court system, on Thursday, June 19, 2025. Emergency and law enforcement services will remain operational, including the Fire Department, Sheriff’s Office, E-911, and Emergency Management Agency (EMA).

The 11th Street Convenience Center, normally open seven days a week, and the Convenience Center at 4214 Fulton Mill Road will be closed on June 19. The Convenience Center on Ninadel Drive will remain open.

Ryland Environmental will continue regular operations on June 19, so trash, recycling, and bulk waste collection schedules will not change during the week.

On the same day, Macon Black Culture will host a Juneteenth Wreath Ceremony at 10 a.m. in front of Macon-Bibb City Hall, located at 700 Poplar Street. The event will honor the historical significance of Juneteenth and celebrate freedom, unity, and the ongoing journey toward equality in Middle Georgia.
