Isolated storms this evening may help some with the summer heat

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Middle Georgia will see isolated storms through the late afternoon and evening, cooling off areas that see the activity.

It’s been another hot afternoon around Middle Georgia under partly cloudy skies. Close to a third of the region saw heat indexes reach into the triple digits. Expect the wind to remain relatively calm with the occasional gust here and there. Storms could bring some stronger winds, however no organized severe weather is anticipated. Lows will be in the lower 70s accompanied by gentle winds from the southwest. Some fog is possible before sunrise tomorrow.

Another hot day is anticipated with highs that should reach into the low to mid 90s across Middle Georgia. Rain odds look to be pretty low overall, however a couple of isolated showers or storms will still be possible. Overall skies should be mostly sunny until late in the afternoon. Wind will blow from the southwest-southwest at 5-10 mph with gusts pushing to around 15 mph.

Overnight a storm or two will be possible early, however not much rain is expected at this time. It will be a warm and muggy night with lows and dew points expected in the lower 70s. Patchy fog will be possible once again.

Rain odds will climb a bit Thursday and Friday, however the odds should still be lower than they were most days last week. Highs will still reach into the low to mid 90s with heat indexes pushing around 100 degrees. It will remain hot and muggy into the weekend with rain odds stepping back for the weekend as well.
