Rain chances decline as temperatures increase
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Rain odds across Middle Georgia will be lower this week, however as a result more summer heat will be present.
This Evening
A partly cloudy afternoon will see many of those clouds clear out through this evening and into tonight. A couple of isolated showers and storms are possible, however most of the region will stay dry. That said conditions will remain muggy through the overnight hours. Low temperatures and dew points will largely be in the lower 70s. Wind will be gentle from the southwest. Patchy fog will be possible ahead of sunrise Tuesday.
Tomorrow
Another hot day awaits Middle Georgia Tuesday as highs largely eclipse 90 degrees with heat indexes pushing towards 100. Wind will remain pretty calm from the southwest at 5-12 mph, however gusts could reach as high as 20 mph. A couple of isolated storms will be possible over the back half of the day. Severe weather is not expected with these storms, however a couple of strong gusts cannot be ruled out.
Overnight will feature mostly clear skies with a slim chance for a lingering shower or storm early. Lows will again be in the lower 70s accompanied light wind from the southwest-southwest. Patchy fog will also be possible again.
Wednesday and Beyond
Rain odds will be few and far between for the middle of the week as partly sunny and hot conditions are anticipated. Most spots in Middle Georgia will see real feels pushing towards 100 degrees at some point this week. This heat will carry into the next weekend.
