Inmate death under investigation at Johnson State Prison
JOHNSON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An inmate died at Johnson State Prison on Monday, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections.
The inmate was identified as Paul Brewster, who died on June 9.
According to a news release, the body was turned over to the county coroner and will be transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab to determine the official cause of death.
Brewster was serving a 20-year sentence for first-degree burglary and obstruction of a law enforcement officer out of Union County, with a maximum release date of December 2037.
