Hollywood Minute: First look at Jennifer Lopez in musical role, Talking Heads return

(CNN)- Jennifer Lopez is stepping into the spotlight in a new role. A newly released teaser trailer offers the first look at Lopez in Kiss of the Spider Woman, a musical drama adapted from the Tony Award-winning Broadway hit. Lopez plays a glamorous movie star brought to life through the imagination of a political prisoner, portrayed by Diego Luna, who shares stories of his favorite film with a fellow inmate. Directed by Bill Condon — the filmmaker behind Dreamgirls and Chicago — the film brings a blend of emotional storytelling and musical spectacle. Kiss of the Spider Woman arrives in theaters October 15.

Talking Heads are marking their 50th anniversary with their first music video in over three decades. The band enlisted Oscar-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan to star in a fresh take on their iconic hit, “Psycho Killer.” They say the video elevates the song and are pleased it avoids any violent or disturbing imagery, despite the track’s title.

Viola Davis is back with Prime Video after the success of G-20. The Oscar winner will produce and star in a new conspiracy thriller called Ally Clark.


Davis plays the title character—an investigator who uncovers corporate secrets while probing the suspicious death of a close friend.
