UPDATE (5/21/25):

Macon-Bibb County has revoked the temporary alcohol license for Mid-Town Daiquiri Bar & Grill, days after a shooting outside the business left three men dead and several others injured.

In a May 20 letter to Mayor Lester Miller and commissioners, Bibb County Sheriff David Davis recommended denial of the bar’s annual alcohol application

which was on Tuesday’s agenda before being removed

citing an ongoing pattern of violence and public safety concerns. Davis also referenced a prior violation from earlier this year.

“Ultimately, Midtown Daiquiri Bar and Grill received a citation and were found to be operating a business without an alcohol license for ‘Required License to Sell Alcohol’,” Davis wrote, referring to a January 2025 business check.

He called the bar “a continued and unacceptable risk to public safety” and wrote that its history of violence makes it “a magnet for mayhem.”

In a separate letter dated May 20, Chief Assistant County Attorney Michael McNeill notified the bar that its temporary alcohol license had been “immediately revoked” under Macon-Bibb County ordinances. The revocation was based on “prior violations of alcohol laws and the occurrence of violent crimes at or within 100 yards” of the establishment.

See both letters below.

Macon-Bibb spokesperson Chris Floore confirmed the revocation Wednesday, writing in response to an inquiry, “The temporary alcohol license they were operating with has been pulled.”

According to a copy of the establishment’s temporary license obtained Thursday from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, it was issued on March 14, 2025 and was set to expire on June 14.

UPDATE (5/20/25):

An

alcohol license item

for Mid-Town Daiquiri Bar & Grill was pulled from Tuesday’s Macon-Bibb pre-commission agenda, two days after a shooting outside the business left three men dead and several others injured.

“That item will not be handled tonight,”

Macon-Bibb Mayor Lester

Miller

said during the pre-commission meeting

. “There will be no discussion on that, so anybody that’s here to speak on that behalf or be here on any decisions in that can feel free to leave at any time. It will not be in our 4 o’clock meeting or our 6 o’clock meeting.”

Miller said the business is operating on a temporary permit and added that the matter would be handled “another way” following “an investigation and report” before any final decision.
