4 injured in shooting at troubled NW Atlanta apartment complex

The incident follows a spate of violent incidents in Atlanta. Police responded to twelve shootings between Friday and Monday, including four on Edgewood Avenue in the Sweet Auburn neighborhood, which resulted in two fatalities and 27 injuries overall.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s examination into risky dwellings, the complex is one of 272 continuously dangerous complexes in the metro area, and the late Wednesday shooting also occurred two years after another quadruple shooting on April 3, 2023, left one person dead there. Serious crimes, poor upkeep, and other dangers were investigated.

Another fatal shooting occurred in the complex’s parking lot two weeks after the first one.

Between 2017 and April 2023, police recorded 71 offenses at the residences in addition to the two murders. They consist of 31 aggravated assaults and one more killing.
