2 year old child dies in apparent drowning in Monroe County

FORSYTH, Georgia (41nbc/WMGT) – Monroe County deputies responded to a report of a possible drowning at a residence off Gose Road on Saturday, just before 5 p.m. According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, CPR was being performed on a 2-year-old child when deputies arrived. The child was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead. Initial reports from the sheriff’s office indicate the incident may have been accidental. The investigation is ongoing.
